| OUR STORY |
On October 4, 2008 our only son, Christian Anthony Alonso went home to be with the Lord. Christian was a beautiful, silly five year old little boy who love to make people laugh and was very excited to have just started kindergarten at his big sister's school. He was finally a big boy! Christian loved to play soccer and on the field is where he showed off his fancy foot work. What started off as a normal Saturday watching him play soccer in the local AYSO region, turned into a tragic day that would alter our lives forever.
Through a tragic car accident in front of our house, Christian was taken away from us. From that moment on our family would be placed on a journey that would force us to make one of two decisions. Would we be overtaken by the grief of our son's sudden departure, or would we stand up and continue moving forward in the faith that had brought us this far? On October 4, 2008 the five of us made a choice and we walked hand in hand out of the emergency room. Once we got into the car that awaited us, Jose and I turned to our three daughters and explained, "All though Christian has went home to be with the Lord, we are still a unit and God is still in control."
Although we may not understand the "Why's!" and although we try to stop the "What ifs" from entering our minds, we continue to keep our eyes focused on Christ and move towards our heavenly home where our son is. As we deal with the emotional rollercoaster of a parent's grief, we are reminded that God has a plan (Jeremiah 29:11) and we must continue to trust and rely on Him for our strength. As the days pass and we continue to move forward with Christian in our hearts every step of the way knowing that "One Day" we will get to be where our Savior is and where our son awaits us. What a glorious day that will be......TOGETHER IN HIS ARMS. |

| Mission Statement |
| Together in His Arms is called to reach out to parents and families who face the unimaginable journey of coping with the loss of a child. As the extended hands and feet of our Lord, Jesus Christ, we will embrace these families who have begun the process of moving forward with the message of hope beyond this life...and the promise that we will one day be together again. As well, through the volunteered time, donations, and sponsorships of our partners, we will extend to these families financial and functional support; and continue throughout their journey to keep our hand upon theirs with contact, encouragement, and love. |
